Happy Helpers for the Homeless
We led an inspiring initiative to support families affected by food allergies in collaboration with Happy Helpers for the Homeless, an organization dedicated to providing food and support to individuals experiencing homelessness in Baltimore City. Ms. Bobbi Coffman, the leader of the organization, has built meaningful relationships with each of the families and has come to understand the specific food allergies they face.
Instead of organizing a traditional food drive, we hosted an allergen-free bake sale at McDonogh School, raising over $250. In addition, we received more than $1,000 in donations from generous friends and family. With these funds, we purchased over 300 pounds of allergy-friendly groceries and thoughtfully assembled 20+ bags tailored to the unique allergen needs of seven families.
We personally delivered the bags and were honored to receive the Happy Helpers Hero for the Homeless Medal in recognition of our efforts. We are proud of the impact we’ve made—and excited to continue this meaningful work.
